Monkey See Monkey Do Yoga classes are designed to support the developmental needs and interests of specific age groups. We offer classes for ages 1.5-2.5, 3-5, 6-8, Tweens (9-12), Teens (13-18) and families. Toddler Monkeys (1.5-2.5 years old)
Toddlers are natural yogis. Through the use of props and songs these classes focus on body awareness and developing their motor skills. These classes teach toddlers to use their bodies and build on their energy while encouraging exploration and discovery. Little Monkeys (3-5 years old)
This is the age where imagination begins to run wild! Utilizing their naturally high energy, classes have a big focus on gross motor skills and play skills. Stories, songs, props and activities build the imagination and introduce co-creation, allowing kids to make yoga “their own”. Relaxation techniques are also introduced. ﷯Big Monkeys (6-8 years old)
Classes delve deeper into yoga poses, breathing and relaxation, and visual imagery techniques through the use of props and fun themes. Partner poses are introduced encouraging support, cooperation, and social skills development. Tween Yoga (9-12 years old)
Tween classes focus on building strength and flexibility while also improving concentration and encouraging social interaction. Classes incorporate asanas, partner poses, games, age-relevant themes, breathing and introduce meditation techniques. Budding athletes and dancers will also discover how yoga can support and enhance sports, dance and martial arts. Teen Yoga (13-18 years old)
Teen classes are themed around the unique issues teens face every day and using yoga as a tool for managing stress, body awareness, and maintaining balance in their busy lives. Classes are fun and focus on building a strong mind and body connection with asanas led by breath, meditation, games, and opportunities to self-reflect through journaling. With an emphasis on proper asana alignment and their benefits teens will learn how to incorporate yoga into daily life. Family Yoga
These workshops were created for families to practice yoga together. This is a unique opportunity for family members and caretakers to bond with their kids in a supportive and playful space. Adults are encouraged to let loose and just be kids again. Games, partner poses and activities will be explored for a new and fun way to connect. Open to all families with kids ages 3 and up.
